Her Interview

Ten minutes with Breana

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would attribute my success to all of my past experiences, whether good or bad, as learning lessons. I come from New York City and an impoverished background, and the struggles and support in my community shaped who I am. My education from Syracuse University with a bachelor's in economics and studying law has helped me become the best career woman I can be.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Learn how to say no, whether for work or personal life, and stop working for free. Know your worth and value because as women we are very valuable and often taken for granted.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Know your worth and add tax. If you think you're worth $100,000, still ask for $130 or $150. Add more to whatever you think you're worth.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Family, community, and love are most important, including love of self, community, family, and friends. Self-love is very important.
