Her Story
About Brenda
Brenda Garcia is a bilingual stuntwoman and actress based in Los Angeles, California. She joined the Screen Actors Guild in 2009 and has earned two Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. Garcia has a particular niche in the entertainment industry, doubling for smaller or youthful actors and children due to her petite stature. She is expanding her expertise into producing and directing by receiving mentorship, shadowing professionals, and taking relevant courses. In addition to her work in film and television, Garcia volunteers her time through public speaking and serving underprivileged communities, at-risk youth, and teen girls. She also assists a community of lonely seniors monthly by providing company, movies, and prayer. Garcia attributes her success to her faith in God, her family, and her own hard work and perseverance.

Her Interview
Ten minutes with Brenda
01What do you attribute your success to?
My faith in God, because relying on myself led to burnout and I found strength beyond myself. My family as my village. My own hard work, receptivity to grace, and never giving up on the dreams God put in my heart.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Never take anything personal. Except for checks! ;)
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
If this is truly her dream and aligned with her calling—not simply for vanity or her own glory—I would encourage her to pursue it with confidence, perseverance, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the world. This industry can be challenging, (you constantly have to prove yourself), but if you know you are called to it, stay grounded in your purpose, persevere through the obstacles, and never give up. Always work hard and stay humble.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in the entertainment industry is navigating an ever-changing landscape while remaining grounded in one’s values and purpose. At the same time, I believe there is an incredible opportunity for storytellers to create meaningful, uplifting, and courageous work that inspires audiences and contributes something positive to our culture. I see a growing desire for stories that offer hope, beauty, and authentic human connection, and I believe artists have an important role to play in meeting that desire.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Faith, integrity, a strong work ethic, perseverance, humility, and service are among the values most important to me, both personally and professionally. I believe our talents are gifts, and that we have a responsibility to develop them fully and use them for a purpose greater than ourselves. I strive to approach my work with excellence and dedication while remaining grounded in my faith, treating others with dignity and respect, and using whatever influence I have to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
