About Brenda

As Local Administrator for Oklahoma Community Sentencing, she oversees administrative oversight, statutory compliance, multi-county budgeting, and contract management across Bryan, Creek, Lincoln, Okmulgee, and Pottawatomie counties. Her professional background combines public sector leadership with business banking and management experience at Bank of the West and Wells Fargo, alongside private enterprise ownership through My Inner Circle LLC. This dual foundation enables her to manage complex public budgets, negotiate provider agreements, and drive strategic cross-system alignment between judicial bodies, treatment networks, and field staff.

Brenda holds credentials as a Level of Service Inventory (LSI) Master Trainer, CLEET-Certified Instructor and Peace Officer, and Basic Instructor Development (BID) certified trainer, specializing in workforce development, behavioral assessment fidelity, and risk-needs responsiveness.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Brenda

01What do you attribute your success to?

"I attribute my success to three things: frontline experience, financial discipline, and a deep respect for human behavior. Coming up through frontline public service showed me the real-world operational realities of community work, while my background in business banking and management taught me how to maximize resources, navigate complex contracts, and manage budgets effectively. Combining that operational discipline with an understanding of human psychology allows me to build systems that aren't just compliant on paper, but actually work for the people running them and the communities they serve."

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

"The most impactful advice I’ve received is that true career longevity comes from purpose. When your daily work connects to a purpose you are passionate about, the effort stops feeling like a grind and starts feeling like an investment. That passion is what drives you through complex challenges, budget constraints, and systemic hurdles."

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

"Go for it! Women are vital to the future of law enforcement and public safety, especially as the field shifts toward evidence-based practices, crisis de-escalation, and community alignment. Trust in your capability, hold your ground, and know that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to."

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

"In Community Sentencing administration, the biggest challenge is expanding access to specialized behavioral health and treatment services, particularly in rural areas where resources are limited. However, the single greatest opportunity is the continued shift toward evidence-based practices and diversion models. By leveraging standardized tools like the LSI and training teams in Motivational Interviewing, we can accurately identify risk factors and address root causes of behavior. My focus is on bridging that gap, using strong fiscal management and collaboration to ensure our courts, supervision teams, and community providers are aligned to reduce recidivism and maximize limited resources."

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

"The two values that guide everything I do are integrity and optimism. Integrity is the foundation of my work; whether I’m managing budgets, overseeing statutory compliance, or leading teams, doing what is right and maintaining trust is non-negotiable. Optimism is what drives me forward. Believing in people’s capacity for growth and seeing potential in complex systems allows me to approach difficult challenges in public administration and business with solutions, resilience, and hope."
