Brenda Hudson, JD: Speaker: Brenda Hudson JD, Consulting PartnerWhat does being an Influential Woman mean to you?Brenda Hudson JD: So an influential woman um is someone who shapes the thoughts, actions, opportunities and directions of others. Um, whether it's in the family or in an organization, we're impacting positive change to move things forward, to move people forward. We speak up, um, we speak for, we ask the difficult questions, um, we're resilient enough to go deeper into the why. Um, we're visionaries that. See the big picture, um, and I think because we're trailblazers and disruptors, we're comfortable being uncomfortable, so we can push things forward, um, in a positive way. We're really wanting to make things better. Um. Whether that's a conversation, whether that's a person or a process or anything, um, I think influential women. Make a difference, um, and make a thing better than it was before they, you know, came upon it, um, before they. Um, and they found it. It's always looking at the vision, the bigger picture, and really seeing things in people sometimes that they don't see, you know, and then influencing them to become that thing. It's not really about um titles or position or using control, but it's you being aware that you're influential. Um, and using that with, um, that influence with wisdom and grace for others and really, um, helping people to see something because sometimes you're the only one that see. So being able to communicate that across different audiences and then bringing everybody to that, that ultimate vision or that ultimate picture, um. To move a thing forward, we are. Impactors, we make things happen. Um, and sometimes we even make More happened than um is requested of us, but I think it's always because we want to be. Um, the very best we can. Um, we realize our voice and our presence has power. And so we try to use that. I know I use it for leading people into being better, um, because we are leaders in action. Um, most influential women like to be Um, both in the vision stage, um, a strategy, as well as in understanding the details and then coming back out of that, um, to actually Make the big picture happen. We make it, we make things happen. What's one piece of advice you would give to younger women chasing their dreams?Brenda Hudson JD: Um, one piece of advice I would give to someone, a younger woman chasing her dreams is to keep chasing them. Um, number one, don't ever give up on your dreams. If it's a passion in your heart, pursue it. Um, it's, it's there for a reason. And um sometimes we think we're too old or got too much going on with family or what have you, and you can't make a thing happen. You can always make it happen. If you got the dream and the desire. In you, keep going, um. Be willing to ask the difficult questions. Be willing to be different from the crowd, to stand out, um, and not just Get along, go along to get along kind of thing, but. Be that person that asks a different question. Um, and It's OK, because most influential women um are going to be people who They're not in the crowd, their thought process usually didn't follow it, um, but they're willing to advocate, to um impose change, and to hold with resilience and wisdom, to hold to their position, even if it's not implemented or it's not done, it's OK to be different. Um, and getting comfortable with that early is probably one of the biggest things I would Give us advice is to pursue your dreams and to Be comfortable being different. Um, God made us uniquely, um, ourselves, and sometimes we try to become something that we can't, uh, we're not supposed to be. But God gives you grace when you are operating in the way he uniquely made you. So be you. Be the best you, you can be, because nobody can beat you being you. Um, it's one of the things I had to learn. It took me a long time to do that. Um. And that would be something I would give to a younger version of me.
