About Brenda
Brenda Williams-Denbo is a compassionate leader in healthcare support, serving as the Development Coordinator for the Tennessee Medical Foundation (TMF) and its Professionals Health Program (PHP). Since joining TMF in 2014, Brenda has spearheaded donor activity, fundraising, and strategic communications, advocating for the mental and emotional well-being of Tennessee’s healthcare professionals.
In 2020, Brenda bridged her professional expertise with a deep personal passion for mental health advocacy by helping to establish the Tennessee Professional Screening Questionnaire (TN-PSQ). Utilizing a platform developed by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), this tool has assisted nearly 1,000 health professionals with anonymous mental health screening and referrals. Recognized nationally as a "Success Story" in 2022 and highlighted as a model for mental health support for physicians by JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association) in 2025, the TN-PSQ is a testament to her dedication.
Before her tenure at TMF, Brenda spent 16 years in print and broadcast journalism in Texas and Tennessee, later joining the Tennessee Medical Association as managing editor of Tennessee Medicine.
A former board chair of the AFSP-Tennessee chapter and a tireless suicide prevention volunteer, Brenda is a 2025 Nashville Business Journal Woman of Influence. She finds her strength as a Christ follower, wife to a Nashville music professional, mother, and proud Gigi to five grandchildren.
