About Bri
I've been in the nonprofit field for about 3 years now, officially, though my connection to this work goes back much further. I lost my mom to breast cancer in 2005, and we participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk as a family. Throughout my 7-year career in staffing and recruiting, I always made it a point to organize initiatives giving back to breast cancer causes at every company I worked with. When my department was eliminated, I had the opportunity to work directly for the Making Strides event in Phoenix, planning a mega event with 40,000 people in attendance. It was a dream come true and very healing for me. Eventually, I wanted more daily interaction with the people benefiting from services, so I joined Cancer Support Community Arizona as Corporate and Individual Giving Manager. In this role, I manage corporate volunteer groups, conduct outreach for potential new donors, maintain donor relationships, make thank you calls for every donation, support our events and programs, and interact with our participants daily. I'm passionate about making sure families impacted by cancer know about our free services and have a place to find community and support. My main area of expertise is building and maintaining relationships, and I try to channel my passion and turn pain into purpose in everything I do.
