Briana’s professional journey began after earning her bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication with a concentration in Public Relations from Millersville University of Pennsylvania in 2019. She launched her career through a post-graduate internship at Golin in Chicago, later advancing within the organization’s corporate practice. She continued expanding her expertise through an employee experience role at Edelman before transitioning into advertising at FCB Chicago, where she contributed to internal communications initiatives and supported employee resource groups. She later held positions at Havas Chicago and Quality Meats Creative, where she served as Account Supervisor, managing client relationships, campaigns, project execution, and cross-functional collaboration.

In her current role at Starcom Worldwide, Briana oversees operational processes, manages team workflows, supports client billing and payments, drives best practices, and collaborates across departments to improve efficiency and deliver exceptional client outcomes. She is also recognized as a DEI Champion who values authenticity, advocacy, and creating cultures where individuals feel respected and empowered. Briana attributes her success to her faith, resilience, and strong personal work ethic, particularly reflecting on how navigating a career transition and layoff period provided an opportunity for personal growth, reflection, and renewed purpose. She continues to embrace challenges as opportunities to learn, lead, and make a meaningful impact in the workplace.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Briana

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my faith and my strong personal work ethic. Throughout my career, I have remained committed, resilient, and focused, even during challenging moments such as navigating a difficult layoff period. Those experiences strengthened my perseverance, reinforced the importance of adaptability, and reminded me to trust the process while continuing to pursue opportunities for growth. My faith has provided guidance and perspective, while my dedication and determination have helped me overcome obstacles and continue moving forward professionally.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received was to never limit myself to the opportunities that are immediately visible, but instead be willing to create new paths and pursue possibilities that may not yet exist. I learned the importance of being my own advocate, recognizing my value, and confidently communicating my goals and aspirations. This mindset has encouraged me to take initiative, embrace challenges, and seek opportunities for growth rather than waiting for them to come my way. By advocating for myself and remaining open to new possibilities, I have been able to navigate my career with purpose and intention.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering my industry is to be authentic, confident, and unapologetically themselves. In male-dominated environments, it is important to recognize the value you bring and never feel pressured to change who you are to fit into a space. Stand firm in your identity, maintain healthy boundaries, and stay true to your values while building meaningful professional relationships. Do not be afraid to create your own opportunities, advocate for yourself, and take up space, even when you are the only one doing so. Your unique perspective is a strength, and authenticity paired with confidence can be a powerful driver of success.
