Her Story

About Briana

Briana Williams serves as a case manager for SHIPS Transitional Housing, a role she has held since 2018. In this position, she assists endangered youth and individuals experiencing homelessness by identifying their needs and connecting them with appropriate resources and shelter. Briana earned her bachelor's degree in Health and Human Services from Western Governors University and is finalizing her Substance Use Disorders Counselor certificate from UC San Diego. Her commitment to this work stems from her upbringing, where her father fostered and adopted youth after raising his own children, and from witnessing friends navigate challenges in group homes, foster care, and juvenile facilities. She volunteers with AmeriCorps, Locks for Love, and ARC, a coalition focused on supporting juvenile youth re-entering the community after involvement with the justice system. Briana's approach emphasizes patience, compassion, and creating positive change one person at a time, with long-term aspirations to advance into supervising case management and eventually pursue politics to broaden her impact on youth in need.
