Her Interview

Ten minutes with Briana

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to our family, our strong faith, and our service mindset. We come from families that encouraged planning for the future and considering how God could use us. We've built our life around service in our careers and marriage, surviving many challenges together through faith and community support.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've received is the networking piece - going out and talking to people. I've always been quick to connect with others, and that has taken me to many places because I'm willing to network and learn from others at meetings and workshops.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Learn as much as you can, absorb things, and don't be afraid to jump in. Be stubborn enough to keep growing and not let problems go unsolved. Approach challenges with curiosity and a desire to learn, and be a lifelong learner.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge right now is figuring out how to deal with AI in education, especially in the ed tech world. We're trying to balance pushing ed tech resources while marketing as a classical education school, and determining how technology can best serve students without abandoning traditional methods like paper and pencil.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Trust and a collaborative team atmosphere are most important. In a school environment, you have to trust your teammates like in a volleyball game, keeping the ball in the air together. Team is better than family analogy because you choose to come together united for the shared goal of student success.
