What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute much of my drive and success to my mother. Growing up, I watched her dedicate herself fully to her work at a small private high school, where she led the math and science department for 15 years. She consistently went above and beyond, investing countless hours into research and preparation to ensure her students received the best opportunities possible. Witnessing her commitment, perseverance, and passion instilled in me a strong work ethic and the motivation to always strive for excellence in everything I do.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Just show up. This is advice I've embodied my whole life, but I had a professor who finally put it into words. Simply showing up to the opportunities I wanted and asking questions opened so many doors for me that I would've never thought of.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I genuinely love connecting with people and learning new things. This curiosity is what drives me forward in every aspect of my life. As a journalist, it helps me find new stories and share them authentically. As a filmmaker, it pushes me to learn new techniques to visually communicate a story. As a person, curiosity leads me to explore new places, restaurants, and coffee shops.
