Her Story

About Brianna

Brianna Puckett is a healthcare operations executive who currently serves as Regional Vice President of Operations at Caregiver Incorporated, an IDD provider supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across multiple states, where she leads the Indiana market. With eight years of experience in the healthcare industry, she has built a career centered on strengthening operational systems, improving quality of care, and driving accountability across the organizations she has served. Before entering healthcare, Puckett spent three years working in education as an assistant principal of culture, having earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Education in Special Education and Teaching, both from Capella University. She later moved into healthcare operations, beginning as a Provider Operations Manager and advancing through director-level roles focused on outreach strategy, contact-center performance, and adherence to operational standards. Her experience also includes serving as an Account Director for a maternal health outreach program, work that further shaped her expertise in program design, compliance, and value-based care delivery before she stepped into her current executive position. Beyond her professional responsibilities, Puckett is deeply engaged in community leadership, serving as Leadership Chair for the National Coalition of 100 Black Women's Indianapolis Chapter, Board President of Constructing Our Future, and a Board Member of A Seat at the Table. She was recognized with an Entrepreneur Award in 2022 for her work with 5 Box Strategies and later selected for inclusion in a feature on Influential Women representing Indianapolis. Guided by a strong sense of purpose and faith, Puckett holds integrity, authenticity, self-respect, and fairness as the core values shaping both her leadership style and her personal life.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Brianna

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to finding the purpose God has for my life. I didn't get here alone — discipline has played a major role, but so has staying focused on my niche and understanding where my true purpose lies.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've received came through an Emerging Leaders program: understand the difference between a mentor and a sponsor. I've learned to seek out sponsors who will advocate for me and mention my name in rooms I haven't yet had the opportunity to enter.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to always prioritize the quality of care we provide to our patients, clients, and members. Financial pressures will always exist, but quality can never be sacrificed for profit — in fact, maintaining high standards of care is what drives long-term growth and opportunity.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges in my field right now are staffing shortages and a broader workforce shift away from bedside care, along with the complexity of navigating virtual care for clients with complex needs. I see real opportunity in redesigning incentives and work structures to better attract and retain frontline workers.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me, in both my work and personal life, are integrity — doing what's right at all times, even when it's difficult — along with self-respect, authenticity, and fairness.
