About Bridget
Bridget Wallenberger serves as Director of Community Programs for the Texas Association of Regional Councils. In this role, she supports all 24 councils of governments throughout Texas with a focus on aging services as well as community and economic development. She leads planning for the Aging in Texas Conference and helps directors and local governments access resources to better serve their communities. Prior to joining the organization approximately four or five years ago, she worked as a grant manager for the U.S. Economic Development Administration. Wallenberger earned her master's degree in public administration from the University of Houston, where she also continued her athletic career on the volleyball team after playing at the University of Miami.

01What do you attribute your success to?
Playing sports throughout my life taught me to meet people from different backgrounds, connect with them, understand where everyone's coming from, not judge, and take it as a learning experience.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
It's always best to keep learning, always increasing your toolbox with different trainings and webinars, find a field that's interesting, dive into that, expand knowledge to be more well-rounded.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Being as resourceful as possible, going above and beyond to help directors and communities, showing up for people especially after COVID, keeping people engaged and excited.
