Her Story

About Bridgette

I have been working in the realm of learning and organization development for about 13 to 14 years. Throughout my consultancy, I've worked with different industries - finance, real estate, construction, insurance, fintech companies, non-profits, and even retail clothing - but always within my area of expertise around learning, people development, and organization development. I started my consulting practice, Jackson Growth, back in 2020, which was actually around the same time that I started pursuing my master's degree. Right now, I do learning and organization development consulting internally for a single company, but what I would like to do in the next five years is get back into my own practice. I'm currently trying to revamp my website and rebrand it so that eventually I can make that step to getting away from being an internal consultant and getting back into my own consulting practices, so that I can work with different companies, different organizations, and broaden my reach. As a double minority - not only am I a woman, I'm also a Black woman - sometimes those seats at the table can be a little bit more harder to get. Being part of an organization that acknowledges the value that you bring, the unique perspectives, and the expertise that you bring helps with your business, your brand, and provides you access, which is something that's important if you want to have impact.

01What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Being part of an organization that acknowledges the value that you bring, the unique perspectives, and the expertise that you bring is incredibly important to me. As a double minority - not only am I a woman, but I'm also a Black woman - sometimes those seats at the table can be a little bit more harder to get. What matters most is having credibility, especially being part of an underrepresented community. Beyond business and brand building, what's really important is access, which is something that's essential if you want to have impact. I believe in the importance of gaining seats at the table where we don't always have representation, and using that access to make meaningful change.
