Brisa Fuentes

Brisa Fuentes works in the field of sociology. Her path has been shaped by university studies and extensive humanitarian volunteer experiences, including two trips with the non-profit Help International to India and Uganda. These opportunities allowed her to understand people on a broader scale while receiving guidance from the organization's CEO, who supported her through her college years. Brisa has also contributed as a mentor to younger volunteers during a trip in Mexico and to her sister as she pursues nursing training. She remains engaged with philanthropic efforts through Help International, Oso, and The Refuge, a center providing therapy and classes for women who have experienced abuse. Additionally, Brisa participates in Latin folk dancing, which complements her academic focus by fostering community and balance. When advising young women interested in sociology, she emphasizes maintaining an open heart and mind, a desire to learn and listen, and a willingness to adapt as society changes.
