Britney Thompson

Britney Thompson is an educator with 16 years of experience who founded the Rosie Mae Youth Foundation in honor of her deceased grandmother. The nonprofit, established about 6 years ago and based in Miami, Florida, focuses on providing educational resources for youth, including college and career prep services for high school seniors in disadvantaged communities or from families earning less than $80,000 annually. Through a 6-10 week program, Thompson offers support with college applications, scholarships, and test preparation, enabling many students to attend and graduate college debt-free. She remains active in education while dedicating increasing focus to the nonprofit. Thompson is a member of the National Education Association and volunteers with the Miami Police Athletic League's track and field programs as well as the TRIO Education Talent Search at Miami-Dade College. In 2024, she was recognized as a North Region finalist for Miami-Dade County Public Schools Support Staff of the Year. She attributes her success to tracking former students' achievements and inspiring them to create plans that reduce college costs.
