Britt Barthel

Britt Barthel serves as Lead Technician in the Audio Visual Industry in New Orleans, Louisiana. She has four years of experience in audio-visual install technician world and has held her current lead position for one year, where she leads a crew of two to three on installations, interacts directly with clients to see their vision & finalize jobs. To name a few, she has managed projects at Nicholls State University, Tulane University, Intercontinental Hotel, and the Alario Center. Prior to this role, she worked in other primarily male-dominated fields including metal fabrication, landscaping, and stagehand production. She attributes her success to being a strong-willed, responsible, & determined individual, drawing from a complex upbringing to assert her capabilities & potential in her day to day. Britt values general respect among coworkers, teaching rather than criticizing, and advises young women entering the field to stick to their guns & don't let doubt from others deter them away from what you're passionate about. She sees the niche nature of the industry & limited number of women in the field as a unique aspect of her career; while the constant evolution of technology presents ongoing opportunities.
