Her Interview

Ten minutes with Brittany

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to God and my family. Everything I have is because of the Lord. I'm a firm believer that that's why I'm here.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Be the same today as you are tomorrow and the next day. Be professional, remember that you are here to do a job, and show up ready to work.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would encourage them to do it and not be afraid. Do not be afraid to advance your career. Don't let other people tell you what you're worthy of. You decide what your worth is and stick to it. You're just as important in this career as anybody else.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Police officers face stigmas due to past events. The biggest challenge is combating fear and building community relations. People are afraid of us now, so having a good relationship with the community is super important.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity and compassion are most important. Operating out of love, treating people the way you want to be treated, and remembering that everybody is human and some people just need a helping hand.
