Her Interview
Ten minutes with Brittany
01What do you attribute your success to?
I think it's just staying true to myself. Following through, building trust, doing what you say you're gonna do. Having personality, not being so serious about it. I like to bring fun to my clients and candidates, getting to know them personally and professionally. Being a good consultant on both sides.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice is probably how you do anything is how you do everything. Being true to showing up and just do what you say you're gonna do, essentially, no matter whether personal, professional, or anything in life.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I think the biggest thing is just having perseverance. It is a lot of rejection in the beginning, it's very easy to get in your head, but just continuing to move forward every day. Having positive perspective and consistency. It is a sales role, so as long as you show up every day consistently, it will pay off in the end.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges is definitely getting people to respond. There's a lot of noise, tons of recruiters in my field, so setting yourself apart. You get told no a lot of times, especially on the client side. It's really just being able to develop that trust, continue persevering, having that grit to continue showing up and building those relationships. Accepting all the no's before you get the one yes is the hardest part.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Having empathy for even just personal, understanding where people are coming from. In order to develop trust, you really have to have a sense of understanding where people are coming from. I'm a big empath, so I take on a lot of people's emotions and feelings. Harvesting the relationships I have personally and professionally. Showing up for people, I'm a big quality time type person.
