Her Story
About Brittany
I've been in dietetics and nutrition since 2019 while also serving 10 years in the military. My mom was a dietitian, which inspired me to pursue sports nutrition after playing sports in high school. I earned my undergrad in Nutrition and Dietetics with a minor in community health sciences from University of Nevada, Reno, graduating with honors. I completed my master's in Nutrition and Integrative Physiology at University of Utah, where I worked with university sports teams. I'm now pursuing a PhD in human and sport performance at Rocky Mountain University of Health Sciences, expected to graduate in 2028. Currently, I serve as the lead performance dietitian for the Los Angeles Clippers, developing personalized nutrition programs, managing the fuel bar, traveling with the team, and mentoring interns through my program and Diversify Dietetics.

Ten minutes with Brittany
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the people around me, including the professors at University of Utah, my cadre from the University of Utah ROTC military program, and my family. They supported me while navigating multiple commitments like master's degree and Army ROTC simultaneously.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Take every opportunity that you can, even if it's not exactly what you want from the beginning. Explore it, and if it doesn't work out, you can always move on. This approach led me from a skilled nursing facility role to working with the U.S. Olympic volleyball team and then the Philadelphia Eagles.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is integrating nutrition into every aspect of athletic performance because there isn't full buy-in yet from teams. Opportunities exist because the field is still developing, allowing me to shape the role of a dietitian in the NBA by increasing education, community outreach, cooking classes, and grocery store tours with athletes.
