I originally was in the service industry where I bartended and waited tables for about 10 or 11 years, and I truly feel like that set me up for success within this role. Being able to read people, knowing how to talk to them and communicate - every person is different, every business I walk into is different, they all have different needs. I really feel like coming from the service industry and dealing with people on a daily basis of different origins and different backgrounds and different needs has helped me succeed within this staffing industry as well. Just being confident in myself and what I'm selling, because I know that it's beneficial for not only our company, but the clients that I'm working with as well. When I got into HR, I feel like that also helped me learn the administrative side and how a business actually works, and what it would take to help them succeed. I think being able to communicate with people from the service industry, as well as learning human resources and how a business runs, it all comes together to help me be successful within the role that I'm in now. My key responsibility is to go out into the community, stop by businesses, introduce myself and the company that I work for, let them know the type of industry that we specialize in as far as staffing, and see if they have a current need and how we would be able to help assist with filling that and getting them all staffed up. I'm their first point of contact, so if anything goes wrong, or if the candidate is not working out and they would like to find a replacement, I'm their go-to person. I'm the middleman between the office and the client, and I build the direct relationship for our company with them.
