Her Story
About Brittany
Brittany Holmes is a healthcare professional currently serving as Patient Experience and Recruitment Partner at Velocity Clinical Research, Inc., a position she has held since February 2025. She entered the healthcare industry in 2014, bringing with her an undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Administration from South University. Before making the shift into healthcare, Brittany spent eight years building a foundation in leadership through retail management with The Gap, an experience that shaped her approach to people management and operational efficiency long before she stepped into the medical field.
Her path through healthcare has been marked by steady advancement across a variety of settings. She began with lab work at Baton Rouge General before moving into administrative leadership, eventually managing accounting and operations for a pediatric practice and rising to Regional Office Manager over nine clinics. From there, she took on hospital operations leadership at Ochsner Lafayette General and served as a Patient Navigator with Urology America, before returning to the clinical research space in her current role. Today, she works closely with patients to educate them about research studies, coordinates enrollment, analyzes recruitment data, and partners with the broader community to expand awareness of available healthcare opportunities.
Outside of her professional responsibilities, Brittany is deeply engaged in her community and her faith. She is active with the Chamber of Commerce, volunteers with Love Acadiana, and participates in an addiction ministry through her church, where she also enjoys singing and studying scripture. A mother of four, she considers family one of her top priorities, and in her free time she pursues a passion for writing, with hopes of one day publishing a book of poetry. Guided by faith, compassion, and a drive to keep learning, Brittany continues to build relationships that strengthen both the healthcare organizations she serves and the community around her.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Brittany
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my willingness to embrace new opportunities, stay teachable, and continuously grow my knowledge rather than confining myself to a single role. I've always volunteered to learn new systems, take on added responsibilities, and support my organization wherever needed. My faith, determination, and the encouragement my father gave me — always pushing me to believe in myself and pursue challenges that would help me grow — have also been central to where I am today.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've received came from my father, my greatest mentor, who consistently urged me to believe in my abilities, pursue further education, and never shy away from opportunities that would help me grow both personally and professionally. I've also been fortunate to have leaders throughout my healthcare career who saw my potential and encouraged me to step into leadership roles.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell young women entering this field to seize every opportunity to learn, grow, and build connections with others. Take in everything you can, because you never know when that knowledge or skill will become valuable down the road.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest opportunities in our field right now is streamlining health information systems and better connecting EMR platforms across providers. Doing so would help us avoid duplicate testing and significantly improve data sharing across the healthcare system.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Serving others with compassion, integrity, faith, and excellence are the values that matter most to me. I place great importance on building meaningful relationships, treating every patient with dignity, and using my position to make a positive impact on both individuals and the wider community. My Christian faith is the foundation that guides every decision I make, both professionally and personally.
