Her Story
About Brittany
I was born in the DFW Metroplex and then moved to California where my mom was in the corporate world, so it was kind of destined to end up here. After graduating high school in California, I attended Texas Tech where I rode on the collegiate equestrian team, made a lot of good friendships, and met my husband, so I got stuck in Lubbock. I had a dream of becoming a doctor, and my bookmark got me part of the way there, but it wasn't really the right path. I went to Parker University College in Dallas to become a chiropractor, and that ended up not being the path that was really right for me either. So I came back to Texas Tech and finished my degrees there. I got an entry sales job at Aramark within their healthcare space, and I was very successful - I was promoted each year until I got to their strategic national accounts level. I stayed in that role for 3 years, and then I just took a new role running the Western Region for a UK-based international medical device company. My main focus is mapping out strategic targets for the western U.S. and finding systems that will implement a product throughout their entire system instead of one-off deals. I like to find critical leaders within the healthcare space, sponsor trials with clinicians who love the product, and get real-world data to show everyone else. Going to chiropractic school gives me a key edge within the healthcare space because I have clinical knowledge, and I've worked in surgery and in doctor's offices, so I'm not intimidated walking into a hospital.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to having a team of great people around me. I've had mentors from companies and mentors from offices that I've been into. Being in the community with medical leaders and finding information from literally anybody you can has been crucial. They will help you if you ask. Having that support system and being willing to learn from everyone has made all the difference in my career.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is to listen more than you speak. In sales, everyone wants to talk, but the best sales are always from the people who listen. Your clients will tell you what they need, you just have to be quiet enough to listen. That has been transformative for me in understanding what my customers really want and need.
