About Brittany
Brittany Lynch is an experienced healthcare operations professional who serves as an Encounter Data Management Professional 2 within Risk Adjustment Operations at Humana. With nearly 14 years of experience in encounter data management, claims operations, and health information management, she has built a reputation for her analytical mindset, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to operational excellence. In her current role, she manages multiple high-impact projects involving encounter data corrections, enrollment research, and cross-functional collaboration to identify reimbursement opportunities while improving processes for stakeholders and providers. Known for asking "why" to uncover root causes, Brittany is passionate about finding practical solutions that improve quality, efficiency, and organizational performance.
Throughout her career at Humana, Brittany has progressed through a variety of leadership and technical roles, including supervisor, production lead, claims specialist, and senior health information management professional. She has successfully led Medicare and Medicaid teams, coached associates, performed quality reviews, and developed process improvements that strengthened operational workflows. One of her proudest accomplishments is redesigning the organization's training program by creating comprehensive training manuals and simplifying complex procedures, enabling new associates to become productive more quickly. After being denied a promotion because she lacked the required degree, Brittany transformed the setback into motivation, earning a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership from Waldorf University while continuing to advance her career. Her dedication and impact have been recognized with three Humana Shining Star Awards.
Beyond her professional responsibilities, Brittany is deeply committed to serving her community through volunteer leadership and advocacy. Inspired by her father's Alzheimer's diagnosis, she previously served as a Community Educator for the Alzheimer's Association, helping families and caregivers better understand dementia-related conditions. She also volunteers with Humana's Salute Network Resource Group, Active Heroes, and the Mount Washington Lioness Club, supporting veterans, local families, and community outreach initiatives. Guided by the values of transparency, honesty, accountability, and servant leadership, Brittany believes that great leaders empower others to grow. She encourages aspiring professionals—especially women—to pursue their goals with confidence, embrace lifelong learning, and never allow limitations or setbacks to define their future.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to myself, my strong work ethic, personal drive, and daily actions. I don't believe in blaming others for setbacks and feel that if you want something, you have to do the work to get it.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've received is don't dwell on the negative. When given constructive criticism, it's to lift you up so you can develop yourself professionally. A negative attitude impacts yourself and others around you.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell them to hit the ground running and don't let ideals of culture stop them. A woman is powerful and can do anything she sets her mind to. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something. Anytime anybody has ever told me that, I look at them and say watch me.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Opportunities are education - Humana provides tuition reimbursement and certification resources, plus great opportunity for growth. Challenges are emotional intelligence within the organization - knowing when and how to respond to situations without letting emotions override logic.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Transparency and honesty are very important. I prefer direct communication rather than beating around the bush. There is a difference between manager and leader - true leaders empower their people, delegate responsibilities, are approachable, willing to learn from others and from mistakes rather than repeating them.
