Her Story

About Brittany

I've been in health and fitness for 20 years after deciding to become a personal trainer following a run that made me want to work out all the time. As a Peruvian-trained shaman for 10 years, I integrate spiritual and emotional work with physical training, recognizing how emotions are held in the body during workouts. I start my days early with movement and breathwork before seeing clients from 7 AM, teaching CrossFit and yoga classes, and handling shamanic or coaching sessions often until late evening.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Do something you love. Find something that you're passionate about that you can develop, grow from, and help other people grow from.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Turn off your social media. Step away from what you're seeing online and come into a right relationship with yourself. Remember where you started and let that guide you with clients. Bring compassion and understanding, meeting clients where they are in the real world without social media influences.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The opportunity to combine spiritualism with physicality, recognizing the body as a whole including mind, spirit, and physical body. Emotions held in the body are released during workouts, helping clients process past trauma and fears through movement like box step-ups.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Authenticity is the biggest thing, being authentic with myself and helping clients be authentic with themselves. Also, sucking it up and doing hard things, knowing that everything you're looking for is on the other side of fear, and that you can do hard things.
