Her Interview
Ten minutes with Brittany
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to resilience, determination, and my desire to create a better life for myself and my family. Growing up, I faced challenges that shaped my drive to succeed—my mother was on disability from a young age, and my father struggled with addiction and passed away early in my life. Rather than allowing those circumstances to define me, I used them as motivation to build a different future. Becoming a mother at 18 strengthened my commitment to breaking generational patterns and providing a better life for my daughter. Through hard work, continuous growth, and a willingness to pursue new opportunities, I built my career in property management, advancing from a leasing agent to leadership roles by leveraging my strengths in sales, customer service, and relationship-building.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received was to prioritize my health and well-being. When I was working as a leasing agent, I once shared with a resident that I rarely took time off or vacations. She reminded me that work will always be there, but taking care of my mental and physical health is essential. That advice stayed with me because I realized that when I take time to recharge and care for myself, I am able to show up as my best self both professionally and personally.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in my work and personal life are family, growth, and finding joy in what I do. I am a mother first, and my daughter and her future will always be my greatest priority and motivation. I also believe in creating a balanced life and making time for the things that bring me happiness. Being in the ocean has become my true passion and my happy place. Whether it is bodyboarding, snorkeling, or simply spending time in the water, it brings me a sense of peace and fulfillment. For years, I searched for a hobby that truly made me happy, trying different activities like painting, journaling, and stitching, but it was not until I found the ocean that I discovered something that truly brings me joy.
