Her Interview
Ten minutes with Brittany
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the constant support and encouragement of my family. My mom, stepfather, grandparents, in laws, husband, and children have always believed in me and motivated me to keep going, even during challenging times in my educational journey. Seeing my family’s support and knowing that I inspire my children to pursue their own dreams, including my son’s goal of becoming a lawyer, continues to motivate me to succeed.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is to stay true to my values, maintain my integrity, and remain humble throughout my journey. My mother and stepfather have always reminded me to believe in myself, keep moving forward through challenges, and never lose sight of who I am. My husband’s encouragement has also shown me the importance of having a strong support system and believing in each other’s dreams. These lessons have guided me in building a career rooted in authenticity, perseverance, and purpose.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to approach it with an open mind and a willingness to learn. There is so much knowledge and growth that comes from being open to new experiences. It is also important to stay focused, because challenges and distractions can be overwhelming, but with determination, resilience, and a positive mindset, success is achievable.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field has been ensuring that my education and training align with the requirements of the New Mexico Bar. With many excellent law schools available, it is important to do thorough research and choose a program that meets the state’s licensing standards. At the same time, the legal field offers exciting opportunities through remote internships and expanded access to global experiences, allowing aspiring professionals to gain valuable experience from anywhere.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are integrity, authenticity, and having a strong moral compass. In a world where outside influences, including social media, can shape how people think and act, I believe it is essential to stay grounded, make decisions based on what is right, and remain true to myself. I value stepping outside of my comfort zone, continuing to grow, and always striving to become the best version of myself.
