Her Story
About Brittany
Brittany Zahorchak is a health and wellness professional with a strong foundation in culinary arts and a growing specialization in holistic nutrition. She began her studies at the American College of Healthcare Sciences approximately one year ago and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in holistic nutrition. She previously earned a B.A. in Culinary Arts/Chef Training from the New England Culinary Institute, giving her a unique perspective on the relationship between food, nutrition, and overall health. Her transition into nutrition was inspired in part by the challenges she experienced in the restaurant industry following the COVID-19 pandemic and her desire to help people develop a healthier, more informed relationship with food. Brittany is particularly interested in digestive health, the nervous system, food literacy, and preventive wellness. She strives to make complex health and nutrition topics approachable, engaging, and practical, drawing inspiration from the enthusiastic teaching style of Miss Frizzle. Her mission is to spark meaningful change by empowering individuals to take greater ownership of their health and wellness through knowledge, confidence, and evidence-based guidance. She also envisions connecting communities through local wellness initiatives, including community gardens and other programs that make nutritious living more accessible. In addition to her academic and professional pursuits, Brittany is committed to developing her communication and leadership skills. She serves as Vice President of Public Relations for the Winchester Toastmasters Club, where she continues to refine her public speaking abilities as she works toward becoming a keynote speaker and health and wellness coach. She attributes her success to resilience and determination and believes strongly in transparency, courage, resilience, and authenticity. Her approach to professional growth is guided by the principle that if you are the smartest person in the room, you are in the wrong room, reflecting her commitment to continuous learning, surrounding herself with people who challenge her, and remaining open to new perspectives.

Ten minutes with Brittany
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my resilience, determination, and unwavering motivation to keep moving forward, even when faced with challenges. I believe in consistently showing up, staying true to who I am, and approaching every opportunity with authenticity and purpose. By confidently embracing my strengths and values, I have been able to build meaningful connections, recognize opportunities aligned with my goals, and attract people who value what I bring to the table.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is, “If you’re the smartest one in the room, you’re in the wrong room.” This reminds me to continuously surround myself with people who challenge me, broaden my perspective, and encourage me to grow. I believe meaningful professional development comes from staying curious, learning from others, and being willing to step outside of my comfort zone.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering my industry is to keep learning and remain curious. The professional landscape is constantly evolving, so investing in your knowledge, skills, and personal growth will help you stay adaptable and confident. Seek out mentors, embrace new challenges, and never stop looking for opportunities to learn from others and expand your perspective.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is the growing emphasis on social media presence. While social media can be a valuable tool, I am not interested in building a personal brand around constantly creating and posting content. I value authentic, meaningful connections and prefer to focus my time and energy on building genuine relationships and engaging directly with people. For me, real connection and personal interaction are far more valuable than simply maintaining an online presence.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are transparency, courage, resilience, and authenticity. I believe in being honest, genuine, and true to myself, even when it may be difficult or uncomfortable. It takes courage to embrace who you are and have the confidence to show up authentically, and I believe that staying true to those values helps me build trust, navigate challenges, and create meaningful relationships.
