Her Story

About Brittney

Brittney Palsa is an Internal Communications Strategist specializing in executive communications, change management, AI adoption, and culture and belonging within complex, distributed organizations. She currently serves at Brown and Caldwell, where she is an Associate, Corporate Communications, leading internal communications for 2,400 employee-owners and acting as a trusted advisor to leadership during high-stakes, sensitive, and enterprise-wide moments. In this role, she focuses on translating complex organizational change into clear, human-centered messaging that builds understanding, trust, and meaningful employee action.

She began her career in education, working directly with 5th and 6th grade students to strengthen reading comprehension and foundational literacy skills. That early experience shaped her ability to simplify complex ideas and communicate with clarity and empathy. From there, she transitioned into publishing in Berkeley, California, where she moved into marketing and communications, developing a strong foundation in storytelling, audience engagement, and content strategy. This path ultimately led her into corporate communications, where she has continued to refine her expertise in crafting messaging that connects people to purpose and change.

Brittney joined Brown and Caldwell in marketing communications before moving into a sustainability-focused communications role at Bridgestone, where she worked closely with engineers and scientists on environmental and innovation-driven initiatives. She later returned to Brown and Caldwell in her current role as Associate, Corporate Communications, where she leads storytelling, executive communications, and change management efforts across water treatment and sustainability projects. Across her career, she has built a reputation for turning complex technical and organizational change into clear, actionable narratives that improve engagement and strengthen organizational alignment.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Brittney

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute the foundation of my success and professional confidence to my exceptional mentor, Camille Majors. When I was starting out, she championed every idea I had and provided the crucial guidance I needed to overshadow and overcome imposter syndrome. Her mentorship was instrumental in building my confidence, which, when paired with my own natural dedication and hunger for continuous growth, allowed me to push past my comfort zone.

02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The ultimate challenge and opportunity in our field today lies in leveraging data and advanced tools, like AI, to translate the value of communication into a language that data-driven professionals understand. The obstacle we face is moving beyond shallow metrics, like social media likes or article views, and finding ways to measure actual behavioral change and shift communication into true change management.
