Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I credit my success to resilience, adaptability, and authenticity. My sales career—spanning from selling gym memberships and uniforms to representing leading medical device companies—has shown me that every experience builds the groundwork for future success. What drives me most is a deep commitment to patient advocacy and ensuring that every individual has access to the most effective, innovative, and affordable surgical technologies. I’ve learned that staying humble, leading with service, and viewing each challenge as an opportunity to grow are the true cornerstones of lasting achievement.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is: “Speak up but always stay true to who you are.” Working in a competitive, male-dominated industry, it’s easy to feel pressure to overcompensate—but I’ve learned that true confidence and professionalism come from authenticity. This advice has shaped the way I lead and communicate, helping me build genuine connections while staying grounded.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The advice I would give to young women entering my industry is: “Be eloquent, be confident, and don’t lose your voice.” I encourage women to embrace their individuality in professional settings and never feel pressured to conform. Preparation, deep product knowledge, and a strong professional presence are essential—but above all, authenticity is your greatest advantage.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges in my field right now are rising healthcare costs and inequitable access to surgical technology. I see a significant opportunity for companies like Olympus to lead in cost-efficient innovation that benefits both hospitals and patients. I also view artificial intelligence (AI) as a transformative force in healthcare—enhancing medical precision and efficiency while complementing, rather than replacing, the human element of medicine.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide me, both professionally and personally; are integrity, inclusion, transparency, and collaboration. I believe authenticity and openness are the foundation of trust, whether with family, friends, healthcare professionals, or patients. I place great importance on teamwork, diversity, and clear communication; principles that shape how I engage in the endoscopy suite or operating room and in every aspect of my daily life.
