Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a combination of my educational and life experiences. I hold an associate’s degree in Arts and Dance Theater, which cultivated my creativity and discipline. My time in the Army, including service during Hurricane Katrina and in Iraq from 2005 to 2006, further shaped me into a resilient, people-oriented, and empathetic individual. These experiences taught me to value life, build meaningful connections, and approach challenges with both dedication and compassion. In addition, I am a licensed Notary Public in Texas, which reflects my commitment to serving my community and maintaining integrity in all that I do.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received came from my former boss, Gary Roberts, who taught me Excel through hands-on projects and emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive work ethic. His guidance not only strengthened my technical skills but also shaped how I approach my career today. I now strive to pay it forward by mentoring younger colleagues in the accounting and administrative department, fostering a supportive environment where team members feel comfortable seeking guidance—both for work-related challenges and personal growth.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to view stress as an opportunity for growth and learning. Embrace challenges as a way to develop resilience and skills, while also maintaining a supportive and collaborative approach with your colleagues. Building both competence and strong professional relationships will set a foundation for long-term success.
