Her Story

About Brooke

I've been in digital marketing for 4 years, and my main focus has always been digital marketing, specifically paid media. I started my career at Tyson as an intern in digital marketing for 2 years, then moved into a media buyer role for a year, and now I've been an associate paid media manager at Tyson for about a year. A typical day in my role really is getting to work and checking budgets for all of our paid media campaigns, making sure we're pacing across the board. Another part of my role is setting up campaigns and optimizing them day to day to get us the highest ROI. On top of that, I participate in creative reviews for our ads, and I also manage agency and cross-functional relationships, so there's a lot of meetings that I go to and lead. Every day is honestly different - some days I'm at photo shoots and video shoots for our ads. I've done some social media work on the side, but paid media has always been my main focus. My most notable professional achievement so far is getting to manage an intern, which might sound silly, but having that responsibility and being an intern first at Tyson really showed me what a good boss and manager looks like, and so now I get to kind of pay that forward by being a good boss and manager to her, and teaching her things that I wish I knew, and just getting to mentor her.

01What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Community is a big part of who I am, both in my professional and personal life, because I don't think we were meant to live this life alone. You need other women and people supporting you, lifting you up, encouraging you, teaching you. I'm the biggest people person - it's really hard for me to be alone, so I'm always doing pickleball or some fun activity, cooking class. I love to try new things, especially new food places. I'm really a big people person that likes to do new things. My favorite place to be is at the lake - that's where I really feel at peace, and the most connected to God, too.
