Her Story

About Brooke

My career in staffing and business development has been driven by my focus on building strong and authentic relationships. Right out of college, I pursued a position that felt like I had a lot of purpose behind it, and there was nothing better of a fit than recruiting and talking to people and finding them jobs. I spent two and a half years at Tradesman International working fully remote in a few different markets, talking to candidates, finding them roles, and positioning them where they're best fit. After transitioning to the client-facing side of business development for construction staffing in the DFW market, I worked for a startup company that was less than a year old when I started. As the first development manager for Trade Corp, I built the DFW market from zero up to 20 different clients in less than a year. Through this role, I realized I was able to succeed professionally, but I felt like I had capped out on the relationships I was building, not being extremely passionate about construction. So I pivoted into events and hospitality almost a year ago, and within my first 8 months at Core Personnel Staffing, I was honored to receive the Rookie of the Year MVP in Sales. In this position, I've built relationships with some of the most reputable organizations in the country like Formula One, Texas Speedway, and some emerging teams like Dallas Trinity FC and the Grand Prix of Arlington. My role throughout the week is conversations, building relationships, and engaging in new opportunities. I'm constantly being involved in the community, attending networking events before and after the 9-to-5 schedule, and if it's not directly meeting with people that are going to use staffing, it's connecting somebody to somebody else that can funnel it back to Core.

Ten minutes with Brooke

01What do you attribute your success to?

My purpose every day is to go out and love others well and to look for opportunities to direct it to the Kingdom of God. I feel like I'm never necessarily looking to achieve anything. I feel like just by looking to sow good things and to sow those things, and look for people that I can pay it forward to is how I've ended up on certain boards. I think just by showing up and looking for opportunities to help people is what's most rewarding in what I do.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Really have fun, bring joy into every room, and just look to leave it better founded. I feel like it's easy to overcomplicate what you're doing, where you're doing, especially when you're starting out, and I think just by looking for opportunities to help people gets you further than anything else.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I think the biggest challenge I see, especially just staffing and being in the employment space, is identifying culture, where you want to be, and where you're able to grow and scale fast, because everybody kind of wants to get where they're going quickly. I think culture is kind of maybe something that is not talked about as much, and I think being able to swap that out early is going to help you in your career development.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I would love to build my legacy on people that have met me or look forward to the next 20 years of what my impact was in Dallas, and it's really just bringing people to their faith, encouraging women to be bold in their faith and confident in spaces they step into. It doesn't matter if it's professionally, like in business, leadership, or the community, I just feel like I'm big on promoting women and spaces and just developing growth in that area.
