What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a natural drive and strong work ethic instilled in me at a young age, influenced by my father and grandfather and reinforced through school and work. I was also shaped by the example and unwavering support of independent, successful women in my family, whose belief in me pushed me to give 110% and navigate challenges with confidence.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I encourage young women to explore both project management and the trades—there is tremendous opportunity, and hands-on experience builds confidence and credibility. Be fearless, stay visible, seek mentorship, and don’t let lingering stigma hold you back; your perspective, work ethic, and collaboration bring real value, and hard work truly does pay off.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges are the lingering stigma and male dominance in the industry, which can make visibility and acceptance harder for women. Opportunities lie in increasing female participation in the trades and harnessing new technology and infrastructure innovations to advance healthcare construction.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are a strong work ethic, perseverance through challenges, mentoring others, advocating for diversity, and maintaining a commitment to patient-centered outcomes in every project.
