Brooklyn Dellago: Having good mental health, I believe is also just is equal to having an emotional well-being, an emotional high emotional state, and what that looks like is more than just balance, it's understanding exactly how you're feeling.
What advice would you share with women about protecting their mental wellbeing while navigating the pressures of life, work, & success?
Brooklyn Dellago: Hi, my name's Brooklyn Delago, and I just wanted to share some of my advice for women who are entrepreneurs or in business and who are just trying to maintain a positive outlook on life and in their career as well. So what advice would I share with women about protecting their mental well-being while navigating the pressures of life, work, and success? Obviously you've heard it before. Staying true to yourself is so vital and so important, and so is having faith and making that a foundation in your life and having hope and a positive outlook on the future and surrounding yourself with people that is also that are also going to put you up. I would say not allowing people to belittle you. And as someone who's, I'm actually a very nice person, and I come from hospitality, and I've always had, always believed great customer service was so important, but don't get that confused with people pleasing. People pleasing can become very damaging to your mental well-being and your emotional stability. So having good mental health, I believe is also just is equal to having an emotional well-being, an emotional high emotional state, and what that looks like is more than just balance, it's understanding exactly how you're feeling. And why you're feeling this way and processing through those emotions, giving yourself that time so it's really going to be giving yourself that time to process, giving yourself that time to reflect that is going to be so important, whether that's through meditation or prayer. Or even just venting to someone you trust, that's going to help you and as women we need to be able to talk to people and and have that relationship not only with ourselves but with others but most importantly with ourselves. Thank you.

Ten minutes with Brooklyn
01What do you attribute your success to?
Prayer and faith are at the foundation of my success. I also believe strongly in surrounding yourself with good people - I don't think growth happens in isolation. Self-awareness is crucial too - I'm constantly checking myself and my business, making sure I'm working on my skills and how I can improve. I started writing as soon as I could pick up a pen, and that passion for storytelling has guided everything I do. Working for that agency in Fort Lauderdale when I was younger certified my skills in SEO and digital marketing. Then spending a few years at the largest global business brokerage, pushing myself from marketing to operations, through their training program, really initatied me to start my own business. Going to conferences has been incredibly helpful as I make sure I'm putting myself out there, and even if no one wants to go with me, I take myself, because you're going to meet great people there and learn from already successful people, which will help propel you forward so much faster. Go by yourself and make the group chat later. But the writing has always been at the center of everything, wanting to write more full-time is what initially inspired me to go into this field.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I've received a ton of great advice regarding work ethic and maintaining true to yourself in business. But as you may have heard before, start before you feel ready. Growth happens outside of your comfort zone. Don't let perfectionism or overthinking get in your way from getting things started or getting things done. Oh and relationships are more valuable then resumes.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I was in a very male-dominated field at my last company, so I was very happy to kind of add that feminine touch into there. I think it's really important to just grow your personal brand - continue to get out there as much as you can and meet as many people as you can. Don't wait for opportunities to come to you - you have to prospect, you have to be ready to move and motivate yourself. You can't sit around too much. You always have to be moving. Even if no one wants to go with you to conferences or networking events, just take yourself, because you're going to meet great people there and being able to really take notes and learn from already successful people is going to help propel you forward so much faster. I don't look at a specific person as one mentor as much as I try to surround myself with a good group of people, because you want to get insight from so many people in different fields and in their lives.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
With AI being such a big part of the world today and continuing to rapidly grow, one of the biggest challenges is convincing people that digital marketing still needs to be a creative human job. Teaching business owners how to properly prompt and use AI is important, because I think a lot of business owners are still kind of running away from using it, especially the older ones. I'm trying to convince them that this is still important and that they need to embrace these tools while maintaining the human creative element. That's actually one of the reasons I want to go into real estate so much - because I know I can use what I have, my digital marketing expertise, in that field.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Faith is absolutely foundational to me. I''m an honest person, a very direct person, and I don't like to beat around the bush too much. I think people appreciate that directness. I'm all about fair pricing, but also making sure services are valued properly and that balance is really important. Honesty and integrity are core to how I operate, and respect is earned. Surrounding yourself with good people is crucial.
(Repeated values above^)
