About Brooklynn
Brooklynn S. Priest is a Senior OSP Design Specialist at TPRC Broadband, where she specializes in telecommunications infrastructure and fiber utility design. In her role, she develops fiber routes, supports utility relocation projects, designs blueprints, conducts field surveys, and records existing utilities to coordinate the placement of new infrastructure. With nearly six years of experience in the industry, Priest has developed a strong foundation in fiber optic utility construction, utility coordination, field operations management and infrastructure planning. Previously, she served as Associate Director of Operations across North Carolina and Ohio before transitioning to a more localized role due to personal circumstances. Priest built her expertise through hands-on, experience-based training and has continued to expand her professional knowledge through industry certifications. She holds OSHA 10, CPR, blood-borne pathogens, and flagging certifications, with OSHA 30 currently in progress. She is also a former member of Laborers’ Union Local 980. Her professional background reflects a commitment to safety, accuracy, and operational excellence, as well as the ability to adapt to the technical and logistical demands of complex telecommunications and utility infrastructure projects. Priest attributes her success to being detail-oriented and committed to ensuring that her work is accurate and complete. She emphasizes the importance of thorough documentation and accountability, following the principle of protecting and documenting her work. She also credits her mentor, Joanna Gleason, for providing valuable guidance and support throughout her career. In both her professional and personal life, Priest values honesty, civility, structure, trust, and self-discipline, particularly the ability to remain focused and composed under pressure.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to being detail-oriented and committed to accuracy in everything I do. I take pride in ensuring that my work is thorough, precise, and completed correctly, while maintaining a high standard of quality in every task I undertake.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is to always “CYA,” or “cover your actions,” by documenting important information, communicating clearly, and protecting yourself through accountability and thoroughness. I have also learned the importance of having a strong mentor, and I am especially grateful to Joanna Gleason for her guidance, support, and valuable perspective throughout my career.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering my industry is to value who you are and remain confident in your abilities. Self-discipline is also essential, especially when working under pressure, as it helps you stay focused, composed, and committed to achieving your goals even in challenging situations.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Trust is the value I consider most important in both my work and personal life. I believe trust is the foundation of strong relationships, effective communication, and meaningful collaboration, and I strive to build and maintain it through honesty, reliability, and consistency.
