About Bruna
Bruna Livreri is currently a college student at Ringling College of Art and Design, where she serves as one of the sound designers in the post-production studio. In this role, she creates sound design for external clients, film, and animation, and manages soundstage equipment inventory. She participates in an assistantship program that combines her skills with community service, volunteering with local nonprofit organizations in Sarasota, Florida, such as Suncoast AquaVentures, where she assists with beach cleanups, social media management, photography, and event management. Bruna also supports the student life department by engaging international students and integrating them into the school community.
With nearly 10 years of experience in filmmaking, Bruna has worked on professional film sets as part of her curriculum and taken on freelance photography work, including serving as the designated photographer for a Southern African panel featuring presidents and former presidents. Her passion for filmmaking began with a YouTube channel and volunteer videography opportunities during high school in Brazil and while living in Eswatini for two years as part of the United World Colleges program, where she completed an International Baccalaureate. These experiences, along with time working in the Netherlands, have given her a global perspective that she applies to her artistic and community work.
Bruna is an alumna of the United World Colleges and remains involved in their global community hub. She is also part of the Girl Up community, an initiative of the United Nations, where she founded clubs in Brazil and Eswatini, organizing workshops on period poverty and gender issues. Her advice to young women entering filmmaking is to build a safety net within the community of filmmakers and surround themselves with people doing meaningful work that resonates with their goals.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I'd say try as much as you can to find your safety net within the community of filmmakers, regardless of where you live and the scale of the film industry on where you're located. If you have a safety net of trustworthy people that you trust the quality of the work and you trust could support you and reference, you're pretty much set. And always make sure that you find people that make meaningful work that resonates with what you want to do, because being surrounded by the people that do the type of filmmaking you're looking for, not only are you gonna have a networking system for when you have your own projects to find people to support your projects, you're also gonna find people doing inspiring projects that you want to be part of.
