Her Story
About Bryoni
Bryoni Worsley is a higher education operations leader with more than a decade of experience in healthcare and nearly three years in higher education administration. Based in Baltimore, Maryland, she currently serves in an operational leadership role at Johns Hopkins University, where she oversees finance-related activities, supports faculty and academic leadership, and manages operational priorities that keep academic programs running efficiently. Having recently completed her Doctor of Education in Higher Education and Leadership at Rockhurst University, Dr. Worsley combines a strong foundation in healthcare administration with a passion for developing effective, people-centered leadership in higher education.
Inspired early by her high school English teacher, Diane English, Dr. Worsley initially envisioned a career in teaching before exploring medicine and ultimately discovering her calling in leadership and operations. Throughout her healthcare career, she became a dedicated advocate for both patients and colleagues, often leading teams through challenging workplace environments while championing fairness and collaboration. Today, she applies those same advocacy and leadership principles to higher education, managing complex operational and financial responsibilities while helping prepare her department for major academic milestones, including graduation cycles. She is also continuing her professional development through the Johns Hopkins Women's Leadership Academy, where she is expanding her leadership network and expertise.
Dr. Worsley attributes her success to the encouragement she received from her mother to pursue leadership opportunities, the inspiration of influential mentors, and the unwavering support of her husband, who reinforced her confidence to pursue ambitious goals. She is passionate about mentoring young women, encouraging them to believe they belong in leadership spaces, embrace their strengths, and build the confidence to lead with purpose. Beyond her professional work, Dr. Worsley is deeply committed to serving others through philanthropy, including supporting homeless shelters and organizing an annual Christmas giveaway in her native Guyana that provides gifts and joy to more than 300 children each year. Guided by advocacy, integrity, and a heart for service, she continues to make a lasting impact in both her profession and her community.
