Her Story
About Caela
I started my career in HR back in 2021 at a manufacturing firm, where I worked my way up from an HR generalist role to an HR business partner. In that position, I was all over the place, helping with onboarding, recruiting, and internal growth for our existing employees. I worked with different recruiting agencies to help fill our internal positions, and when I saw the opportunity they had, where they were focusing on just one goal, I realized I wanted to go to the recruiting side of things, to the outside agencies. I was kind of scared, like, taking that leap to go into a sales position where I'm not just sitting on a base salary. I wanted to challenge myself to go into something that would be more rewarding if you put in the work, and I always thought I had a great work ethic, so I was like, I might as well try and see if I either sink or swim. I stepped into recruiting then, and it's been a little bit over three and a half years within the construction recruiting world. I recently was promoted into my current position as a Client Solutions Executive. My main focus now is that I'm no longer recruiting, but I'm working with the different recruiting teams that I have within our company. I go out and find new clients, I'll go in person, I'll do cold calling, I'll show up with different treats, just really trying to build relationships across Florida and get new clients for my recruiters to recruit for. I'm helping different construction and skilled trades across the board, either with field positions or all the way up to VP positions, both contract workers and direct hires. As a recruiter, I built so many strong relationships that I was able to bring in new clients pretty quickly, and coming into this role, I had set clients and was able to be one of the top revenue generators within my company. I was within the top 5 right away, which was really rewarding.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say, just to keep your head up, and I would say consistency truly is key. It's very big to learn from your mistakes in this industry, and not let them bring you down. Like, you learn from them, and you keep going. There's so many different people to reach out to and connect with, and the more you build your network, the stronger recruiter you'll be. And that could take time, consistency, and having that motivation, or motivated headspace.
