Caira Walker

Caira Walker serves as Manager of Tennis Pathways and Coaching at New York Junior Tennis and Learning, where she oversees the organization's grassroots program that feeds into competitive scholarship opportunities. She manages all coaching staff, handling recruiting, hiring, and training to ensure coaches can develop the next generation of players in the communities served across the five boroughs of New York City. The year-round programming provides free tennis instruction to over 10,000 children annually through seasonal sessions. In her part-time role with Black Girls Tennis Club, a nonprofit she has supported for nearly three years, Caira helps lower barriers to tennis for Black women and girls by offering free or low-cost programming, scholarships for equipment and tournaments, and pathways to coaching. She previously spent four and a half years in construction while coaching tennis on the side and holds a background studying pre-med sciences at Hampton University, where she also played college tennis before pivoting to a full-time career in nonprofit tennis.
