Her Story

About Caitlin

Caitlin DeWolff, She/Her, is a Cannabis Retail General Manager with a strong background in operations, compliance, and team leadership within the regulated cannabis industry. Since 2016, she has worked professionally in cannabis retail, building deep expertise in both customer-facing service and behind-the-scenes operational management. In her current role as General Manager at Tap Root Station, she oversees daily store operations, ensures strict adherence to New York State compliance standards, and leads teams focused on delivering a high-quality, educational retail experience. Her passion for cannabis is rooted in a fascination with the plant’s science and its ability to support wellness and quality of life. A key area of her expertise is product education, where she helps customers understand terpene profiles, cannabinoid effects, and how to select products aligned with specific needs and desired outcomes. She is deeply committed to staff training and product knowledge development, ensuring her team can confidently guide consumers through an evolving and often misunderstood industry. A major focus of her work is destigmatizing cannabis use by educating the public that it extends far beyond intoxication, highlighting the value of non-intoxicating cannabinoids and their potential therapeutic benefits. In her day-to-day leadership, Caitlin emphasizes responsible consumption, inventory planning, and bridging knowledge gaps for diverse customer groups. She plays an active role in educating both new and returning consumers, including older adults re-entering cannabis use after decades, helping them understand modern potency, dosing, and safe usage practices. She also advocates for transparency and quality, helping customers understand the difference between cultivation methods such as living soil-grown products and conventional production. Through this work, she continues to strengthen trust, elevate industry standards, and create a more informed and empowered cannabis community.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't give up. There will always be somebody to tell you why you shouldn't be there, and that is absolutely not something that you need to listen to. There's always a place for women in this industry. Knowledge is power. The more knowledge you have about a certain product, industry, etc., that will be your turning point for success.
