What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to both my family and my colleagues — I really can’t pick just one. Growing up around strong leaders in business and customer service industry, I developed a passion for helping people and stepping into leadership. My colleagues at SeaTown have also been incredible, supporting and collaborating with me as I worked my way from dispatcher to operations leader through dedication and hard work.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is that not everyone thinks like you, so you have to be able to adapt and take in information in many different ways. I’ve also found The One Minute Manager to be a valuable framework for coaching and leading teams effectively.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to advocate for your teammates’ growth and create opportunities for them to step up. Be adaptable in how you receive information and be willing to put in the hard work, even if you don’t have traditional credentials.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges in my field are adapting to new ways of receiving information and overcoming the lack of formal credentials, which often requires extra time and effort. The biggest opportunities come from listening to, supporting, and advocating for your team to drive growth and success.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are a strong work ethic, making people feel heard and valued, teamwork, mentorship, and continuous learning, all while prioritizing family and enjoying time outdoors, DIY projects, and shared passions like hockey and nature.
