Caitlin Newton is a dedicated Strength and Empowerment Coach, founder of Stronger Runner, and a group coach at Warrior Body in Morgantown, West Virginia. She specializes in kettlebell-based training and progressive strength programming for runners and general population group classes. Caitlin is passionate about helping clients build confidence, master correct movement, and develop long-term athletic growth, emphasizing education, hands-on coaching, and a growth mindset in every session.

After graduating from West Virginia University in 2024 with a degree in Coaching and Performance Science, Caitlin chose to gain practical experience over immediately pursuing graduate studies. She completed her Bell Mechanics kettlebell certification and continues to engage in its mentorship program. Alongside her work at Warrior Body, she founded Stronger Runner, offering an 8-week program both online and in-person, designed to guide runners in strength training and performance enhancement.

Caitlin’s professional focus extends beyond training, encompassing leadership, mentorship, and community empowerment. She has coached for Girls on the Run, supported local wellness initiatives, and actively participates in programs promoting health and fitness for women. Recognized as an influential voice in Morgantown, Caitlin combines technical expertise with a people-first philosophy, helping clients achieve both physical strength and confidence through structured, results-driven programs.

What do you attribute your success to?

I'm very hardworking, but I really don't let challenges knock me down. I'm pretty solution-oriented in terms of the way that I think, so I kind of just have this relentless optimism that lets me just keep trucking right along. I think that I'm grateful that I'm wired that way, but I definitely sometimes work harder, not smarter, because of it. This mindset has allowed me to navigate the challenges of my early career and stay focused on what matters most.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice that I've ever received is that you need to fill your own cup and be kind to yourself before you show up for literally anyone else. I don't think I necessarily understood it right away, but I think that it's very easy for me to get caught up in all of the things that we feel like we have to do, or need to be doing, and it really helps me to kind of just slow down, be where my feet are, and embrace that I will get everything that I need to done. If I don't take care of myself and show up for me in the same way that I want to be able to show up for others, I'm not going to be as effective of a coach and role model and educator.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Do not shy away from opportunities that will create connection, but also listen to your heart and trust your intuition to know when to say no and to trust your gut when something feels right and it is meant for you. You will hear the word no, as in opportunities that you maybe thought you were interested in will end up not working out, and that is okay. It doesn't mean that there isn't a place for you here, because there is, you just may have not found it yet. So don't shy away from your dreams if you know that it is something that you truly want.

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I think one of the biggest challenges is that the market in general is just pretty flooded. There's so much content in the online space, and I think it's pretty overwhelming, so knowing when to kind of take a step back and just breathe is important. There is a lot of negativity, and skinny culture is alive and well. People think that we don't need to necessarily strength train, or that lifting will make them bulky, but all of these things are myths that are proven not true. So staying true to my education and knowing what is actually factually correct, and making sure that I know the content that I am sharing is always authentic and true from me is something that I will always do. I can't control what other people are doing and posting on the internet, but the best that I can do is share my knowledge with others.

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I definitely really value love and joy. Those are two things that kind of go hand in hand. It's really hard to care about things and feel driven towards them if it is not something that you feel full-heartedly about. I think that leading with love and a growth mindset really allows me to show up inspired and as a whole version of myself, everywhere that I go and everyone that I interact with. Making sure that I'm making myself just as much of a priority is super important, because if I don't take care of myself and show up for me in the same way that I want to be able to show up for others, I'm not going to be as effective.
