About Caitlin

Caitlin Rappold is an experienced Route Manager in armored logistics at Brink’s Inc., where she has served for 10 years and 10 days. In her current role formally held for the past two years and built upon four years of prior unofficial leadership experience she oversees complex logistics operations spanning Erie, Pennsylvania to Rochester, New York. Her responsibilities include managing secure transportation workflows, coordinating FedEx and national shipments through Buffalo International Airport, ensuring full compliance with DOT regulations, and training drivers to uphold the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and operational integrity.

Prior to her promotion into formal management, Caitlin built a strong foundation within Brink’s through progressive roles that developed her expertise in security operations, route supervision, and asset protection. Her leadership journey includes becoming the first female one-man team driver in her region, a milestone that reflects both her resilience and her commitment to excellence in a traditionally male-dominated field. Over the course of her career, she has also contributed to hiring and developing other women in the industry, actively supporting greater inclusion and representation in logistics and security operations.

Before joining Brink’s, Caitlin spent 20 years in the security industry, beginning her career at the age of 17 with private and government contract work for the State of New York. She is recognized for her strong work ethic, dedication to compliance, and commitment to mentoring colleagues across multiple branches. Caitlin values Brink’s emphasis on employee safety over profit and takes pride in fostering a culture of accountability, training, and professional growth while continuing to champion confidence and self-belief as key drivers of success in her field.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Caitlin

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success can be attributed to a strong work ethic, which has consistently driven me to remain disciplined, committed, and focused on delivering high-quality results in every responsibility I undertake. I believe that sustained effort, accountability, and a willingness to continuously improve are the foundation of long-term achievement, allowing me to overcome challenges and maintain consistent performance across professional and personal endeavors.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is to stay focused on continuous growth, seek out mentors who challenge and guide you, and consistently let your work ethic and results speak for themselves. While external factors in any organization may vary, maintaining professionalism, building strong competencies, and remaining adaptable ensures long-term success regardless of environment.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to approach their careers with confidence, self-awareness, and a strong sense of identity. Do not be intimidated by challenges or underrepresentation—stay grounded in your capabilities, stand firmly behind your work, and allow your performance and professionalism to speak for itself. Believing in your own potential sets the tone for how others perceive and support you, and over time, consistent confidence and excellence not only open doors but also help create opportunities for other women to enter and thrive in the field.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in the field right now is the continued presence of bias, particularly the misconception that women are less capable in roles that require technical expertise, leadership, or operational strength. At the same time, there are significant opportunities emerging through advancements in technology, especially with the integration of artificial intelligence in trucking, logistics, and operational systems. These innovations are transforming the industry, improving efficiency, safety, and decision-making, while also creating space for a more diverse and skilled workforce to contribute and lead in meaningful ways.
