Her Story

About Cali

I started my journey dealing with really bad early adult acne, which led me to see an esthetician who became incredibly important to me. She did so much more than clear up my skin - she made me feel confident and beautiful in more ways than just the way that I look. She gave me self-confidence and taught me how to love myself again for more than just the way that I look. That experience is what brought me into the aesthetic industry, because I wanted to give people that same feeling where confidence is everything. I mean, you don't have to be the most gorgeous, perfect person in the room, but when you have that confidence, it exudes off of you, and I feel like you just get everything that you want when you feel confident about yourself. I went to Arizona State for business but realized it wasn't for me, then went to esthetician school. I started off at a regular spa, then moved to a smaller family-owned medical aesthetics business, then worked at a plastic surgeon's office in Gold Coast, Chicago. I realized I loved the industry but didn't love actually performing the treatments. I worked in nightlife for a really long time doing VIP hosting, which taught me a lot about sales, connecting clients, and closing really big ticket sales. Then LaserAway fell into my lap, merging aesthetics and sales - that's been my progression over the past 10 years of going from not knowing what I want to do in college to honing into what I'm really good at and really knowledgeable about. Now I sell aesthetic treatments to consumers - Botox, filler, laser hair removal, laser facials, CoolSculpting, body contouring, wellness shots - making people feel more confident in their own skin and putting them on beauty plans that make them look and feel their best.

01What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I feel like aesthetics is only growing, and people are really leaning more into spirituality and working on their energy. My goal is to merge medical aesthetics with a spa experience - I feel like it goes one way or the other right now. You either go to this really vibey spa where you get a nice massage and extractions and it's comfortable, or you go to a medical office where it's bright lights and everything hurts. I really want to merge the two, where you can come in and get a result-driven treatment that's actually going to change your skin on a cellular level and heal your skin, and then you can end it with chakra balancing, sound healing, massage, and just merge those two things to have a whole comprehensive treatment. I feel like the ideas that I have, no one else has done them, and I want to come up with a new, really innovative plan.
