Calicia Patton is a dedicated healthcare professional with over a decade of experience in pediatric and neonatal critical care transport. Currently, she serves as the Market Segment Manager for Pediatric Programs at Air Methods, where she focuses on enhancing specialized care delivery for these patient populations patients. She serves as a subject matter expert not only for the interior of the company but also for the customers.

Prior to this role, she worked as an Account Executive at Air Methods and held multiple positions at Children’s Nebraska, including Transport Shift Coordinator, Critical Care Paramedic, and Interim Manager, demonstrating her leadership, problem-solving skills, and commitment to patient safety. Her career in emergency medical services began at Creighton Medical Center, where she worked as a Paramedic in the Level One trauma center before advancing to more specialized and leadership roles at Children’s Nebraska. Calicia’s academic background includes studies in Paramedicine at Creighton University and a Bachelor of Science from Doane University, where she also actively participated in extracurriculars such as volleyball, dance team captaincy, and serving as Phi Sigma Tau President. Known for her supervisory skills and ability to manage complex situations, Calicia excels in both hands-on patient care and administrative oversight. Her dedication to pediatric and neonatal healthcare, combined with her expertise in critical care transport, positions her as a respected professional in her field, committed to improving outcomes and advancing the quality of care for children.

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to all the phenomenal leaders and mentors I have had throughout my career. To those leaders. that believed in me and pushed me to make the hard decisions, hard moves and be the best that I could be. To my family and my friends for always having my back and encouraging me to keep pushing when things got difficult. I have the best hype team around me!

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever been given is to continue to lead based on my true core values. To believe in myself stay true to my decisions and always trust my gut.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The best advice that I could give to young women entering specialty team air, medical transport is to build a strong well-rounded foundation. To not be afraid to admit when you don’t know the answer and to always advocate for your patient.

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I think the biggest opportunity in my field right now is the upward directory the Air medical transport has. There’s tons of room for innovation, working collaboratively, trying new ideas, and pushing the boundaries to ensure that all patients can be transported safely to the facilities that they need to go to.

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The biggest value I have in work is to always advocate for the patient. I also view my success in my role as others being successful in their roles.


In my personal life, I value the time and memories made with my family and my friends. Without their continued support nothing I’ve accomplished would have been possible.
