Ten minutes with Callie
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a powerful combination of stubborn determination and unshakeable resilience. True growth comes from your ability to take any challenging situation in stride and actively pull a valuable lesson from the experience, no matter how difficult the circumstances might feel at the time. Having a high tolerance for adversity and choosing to continuously move forward, adapt, and refine your approach is what ultimately builds a long-lasting, impactful career.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received from a mentor is to get comfortable with being uncomfortable and keep pushing forward. Growth and leadership do not happen within your comfort zone. Even when a new responsibility, promotion, or strategic pivot feels incredibly intimidating, you have to acknowledge that fear and choose to execute anyway. Embracing the discomfort of the unknown is the exact mechanism that unlocks your highest potential and refines your leadership capabilities.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The most valuable advice I can offer is to embrace the reality that professional development is a lifelong learning process. You will rarely feel entirely qualified or 100% ready to take the next major step in your career-but you must take it anyway. Do not let the fear of slipping up paralyze your ambition. When mistakes do inevitably happen, take absolute ownership of them immediately. It takes time and intentional experience to build expertise, and pushing through those initial doubts is always worth it in the end.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The market moves at an incredibly rapid pace, creating a constant challenge to accurately anticipate evolving trends and predict which manufacturer will release the next game-changing instrument. This fast-moving environment requires you to perpetually adapt your strategies on the fly. However, this volatility presents a massive opportunity for proactive professionals. By leaning into this rapid evolution and treating the unpredictable market as a masterclass in agility, you can position yourself ahead of competitors, ensuring your team is always the first to adopt and master cutting-edge technologies.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
My foundational core value is my Christian faith, which serves as my ultimate anchor and guide post. Having a deeply rooted belief system provides an essential sense of stability, peace, and clarity that helps me navigate high-pressure environments and complex professional decisions. It ensures that regardless of the shifting circumstances around me, my ethics, actions, and treatment of others remain grounded in a purpose larger than myself.
