Her Story

About Camila

My path into brand management hasn’t been linear, but it’s given me a well-rounded foundation. I studied psychology at UT Austin, focusing on organizational psychology, and gained analytical experience through research roles during college.

After graduating, I worked in marketing as a Business Development Coordinator before being recruited by Authentic Brands Group. I started in entertainment licensing, then moved to the apparel and lifestyle division in 2025.

Now, as an Associate Brand Manager for the LATAM region, I manage about 50 licensed partners across Latin America—working with them on performance, growth strategies, and day-to-day business needs. Exploring different fields early on ultimately helped me build the skills I rely on in my role today.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say trust yourself, just because if I've learned anything being in corporate America, it's that if you show that you have confidence in what you're saying, you most of the time know what you're talking about. It's just that little bit of confidence that you need for other people to actually believe you and respect you in the right way. So trusting what you know, trusting what you do, and speaking with confidence would be the greatest advice. You really need to fight for yourself too. I feel that if you are confident in what you've done and what you've achieved in the current role you're at, and you are able to express that to either interviewers or your actual manager to grow your career path, you really need that confidence and you really need to fight for yourself whenever you have a chance to make yourself grow career-wise.

02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I feel like fighting for yourself is both a challenge and opportunity. It kind of goes hand-in-hand with trusting yourself. If you are confident in what you've done and what you've achieved in the current role you're at, and you are able to express that to either interviewers or your actual manager to grow your career path, that's really important. You really need that confidence, and you really need to fight for yourself whenever you have a chance to make yourself grow career-wise.
