Her Story

About Camille Joyce

Camille Navarro is a multi-unit retail manager with nearly six years of experience spanning retail, tourism, hospitality, and customer service. She currently serves as a Multi-Unit Retail Manager at Park City Souvenir Co., where she oversees day-to-day operations across multiple retail locations, including vendor relations, product research and sourcing, inventory management, employee hiring and training, and team leadership. Her career in Park City began at the Park City Museum, where she progressed from Museum Store Assistant to Assistant Retail Manager and eventually Retail Manager. She also previously worked as a Store Manager at Mary Jane’s and as a Guest Service Representative at Chateau on the Lake Resort Spa & Convention Center. Camille combines practical industry experience with a strong academic background in international business. She earned a Master of Business Administration in International Business from California State University-Sacramento in 2020, graduating at age 23 as one of the youngest members of her cohort. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Travel and Tourism Management from Lyceum of the Philippines University, where she graduated Cum Laude and served as a Dean’s Lister and Merit Scholar. Her professional development includes certifications in Events Management and Food and Beverage Services, as well as membership in Beta Gamma Sigma, the International Business Honor Society. As a leader, Camille emphasizes authenticity, compassion, accountability, trust, and employee autonomy. She believes in empowering team members rather than micromanaging them while maintaining a supportive environment where employees can grow and take responsibility. Her career was significantly shaped by the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, which disrupted her original plans but ultimately led her to Utah and new opportunities for professional growth. Looking ahead, Camille hopes to become an entrepreneur, with interests in retail or the travel and hospitality industry. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, reading, and attending concerts, while continuing to draw inspiration and encouragement from her family and husband.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Camille Joyce

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the unwavering support of my parents, family, and husband. Their belief in me, especially during the difficult times in 2020 when I nearly gave up, gave me the strength to keep moving forward. My dad’s advice to always ask myself whether I would be happy and regret not finishing has continued to motivate me and shape my decisions.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve learned is to stay adaptable and remain open to unexpected opportunities. When the pandemic disrupted my original plans, I had to adjust and embrace a new direction, which ultimately led me to Utah and helped shape the management career I have today.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to never give up. You may encounter people who judge you or question your abilities because of your age, but surround yourself with the right people and a supportive team that encourage your growth. If you find yourself in an environment where you are no longer learning or developing, it is okay to move forward and seek new opportunities.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge is employee retention as new employees often leave after a few months or a year. Opportunities include the expanding variety of products and vendors, especially local artists and suppliers in Utah.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Balance between life and career, authenticity, compassion, and self-responsibility. I value giving employees autonomy rather than micromanaging.
