Her Interview
Ten minutes with Camille
01What do you attribute your success to?
I've always worked hard and done what I'm passionate about. It makes a difference if you really care about your job and it's not just a numbing going to work 5 days a week to get a paycheck.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
You really have to love what you're doing. You really have to be committed and enthusiastic, and if you're not, there's no sense doing it. I've always worked in jobs that I really enjoyed, and some of them I loved.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
You have to be a people person, you have to love what you do. You have to be passionate with what you do, and you can't think of your job as a 9-to-5 collect the paycheck kind of thing. You're sort of on a mission to help people, whether it's at a hospital, or at a non-profit, or whatever. If you don't have that passion, you shouldn't go into that at all.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is finding the right fit for yourself and making sure that you are passionate about it, you love what you do. If you don't, you shouldn't do it. It's very emotional, it's very hands-on.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I have had a compulsion to help others. In almost all of my jobs, in one way or another, I have helped others get out of trouble, lead a better life, or lead a happier life. I enjoy people, and I enjoy helping people.
