Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I would say it's a combination of things. Not the most supportive and constructive managers, and working for organizations that do not value people - they just see people as a number, as a resource. But really, I would say my daughter. I'm just really wanting to be someone that she can look up to and admire, and show her what a strong, confident, educated woman looks like, especially when she's trying to navigate TV and celebrities and entertainers.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say remain confident and stay true to who you are. Know your worth and don't back down. It's not going to be easy - there'll be plenty of days where you want to cry, kick a wall, give up. It's a challenge, because unfortunately, as women, we're constantly questioned, and we constantly have to prove our knowledge, our experience, and why we have a seat at the table. But go into it with confidence, and know who you are, and feel strongly about who you are. Don't lose yourself in your principles and in what you're doing.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to her in both her professional and personal life include prioritizing and protecting her children, advocating for respect in all relationships, and standing firmly against discrimination. She also believes in promoting truthful historical education and being fully present and engaged as a parent and role model.
